Louie’s first love for woodworking is all thanks to his grandfather, who he used to watch and help make birdhouses, tables and Christmas decorations when he was just a little boy. Louie took woodshop in school, worked as a union carpenter, built furniture in a cabinet shop and then spent over 10 years in sales. More recently, as Louie’s wife yearned for the contemporary, in-style furniture in top-end stores, did Louie say, ‘Hey, I can make that…and I can make it better!’ As a husband and father to two young boys, Louie began his woodworking again in his spare time, making a TV entertainment system, live-edge coffee table, live-edge shelves, bookshelves, and even patio furniture. As friends came over, they too yearned for these unique pieces of furniture that couldn’t be found anywhere. His passion after all these years has resurfaced and he is making custom furniture and restoring antique pieces in his shop. Louie has the capability to design anything a customer envisions and make it a reality. His forte is working with wood, giving it a smooth or rough look, or even making it appear to be metal.
